Mechanism Of Action:
Desloratadine is a non-sedating, long-acting antihistamine that selectively blocks peripheral histamine H1-receptors. It is the major active metabolite of loratadine and works by inhibiting the action of histamine, a substance in the body that causes allergic symptoms. By blocking these receptors, desloratadine helps to alleviate symptoms of allergic rhinitis, such as sneezing, runny nose, and itchy or watery eyes. Additionally, it is used to treat chronic idiopathic urticaria (hives) by reducing itching and the size of hives.
Indications
Allergic Rhinitis: Desloratadine is used to relieve symptoms of allergic rhinitis, such as sneezing, runny nose, and itchy or watery eyes.
Chronic Idiopathic Urticaria (Hives): It helps reduce itching and the size of hives in patients with chronic idiopathic urticaria.
